The Miami Dolphins are a Miami based professional American football franchise. The Dolphins are a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) East division in the National Football League (NFL). The Dolphins as they are popularly known were established 55 years ago on the 16th of August 1965 and their first season was a year later in 1966. The Dolphins were very dominant in the 70s and 80s and they won 2 Super Bowl championships in 1972 (VII) and 1973 (VIII) and a total of Conference championships between 1971 and 1984.
